TAKE ACTION

SIMPLE WAYS TO MAKE SURE YOUR VOICE GETS HEARD:

Contact the Minister

Minister Bronwyn Pike has taken responsibility for the Skills and Workforce Participation portfolio, replacing Minister Jacinta Allan.

To voice your concerns about the increases in TAFE fees, ending of concession rates and introduction of loans, phone Minister Pike's office on: (03) 9328 4637 or send her an email here.

Sign the online petition!

The TAFE4All petition is online. If there's one thing governments take notice of, it's numbers. Pass the link around to your friends, family, fellow students and co-workers - anyone who, like you, is shocked by these reforms and the rising cost of TAFE.

Stick the TAFE fee hikes (to your bike or car)

Have you got a bike or care? Email Anna to ask for a 'Stop TAFE fee hikes' bumper sticker to be mailed to you, and once you've stuck it take a photo (and get yourself in it if you can!). We'll post the photo at the TAFE4All website, sending the message that increasing the cost of TAFE is a change we will not accept.

Contact talkback radio

Calling your local talkback radio station - and telling them how disappointed you are with the State Government's decision to make TAFE unaffordable -is a simple way to voice your opinion and help stop the changes.

It'll only take a few minutes of your time and the benefits will be enormous. The community deserves to know that our government is trying to make TAFE compete with dodgy private colleges - and we won't stand for it.

Let's work together to spread the word that our TAFEs are for everyone, not just those who can afford it.

Click here to see all the phone numbers in your area - it's easy!

Tell us your story

Are you a TAFE or secondary student? A parent of one? A TAFE teacher? A career-changer? A former TAFE student who knows how important it is for those who need a leg-up into work?

Tens of thousands of people are affected by these reforms and you all have stories to tell. Tell us yours - use the comment boxes below each post, put your stories up on our Facebook group, or email us at info@tafe4all.org.au and let us know directly how you're affected.

Show us your piece of paper

Let's show the State Government we're not happy with the piece of paper they're offering TAFE students.

Take a photo of yourself holding your piece of paper - the bill your TAFE education will leave you with, thanks to the new skills reforms.

Send them to us at info@tafe4all.org.au or post them on our Facebook group.

We'll be posting your snaps here on the blog. Check out the video here for an example and start snapping - let's show the Victorian Government that we want skills, not bills!

Tell your friends

Email this website link to five friends and spread the word about the campaign. The more people hitting this site and taking action, the more the Brumby Government will know there is real opposition out there to its reforms. Talk about us on your own blog or Facebook page, join our group, tell your friends to follow our twitter feeds and just get the word out.
