"I can't believe the Government would stoop that low"
Victoria's regions have responded strongly to the AEU's campaign to Save TAFE, with great turnouts at the first of our regional campus rallies.
Country communities rely heavily on their local TAFEs and know they will be hardest hit by the Government's $300 million funding cuts.
Staff, students, parents and the public have showed up in their hundreds to support TAFE and express their anger at these devastating budget cuts.
But some of the most moving moments have been when individual students have taken to the stage to tell the crowd their stories of how TAFE transformed their lives.
One of those was ex-TAFE student Phillip Hunting, who described TAFE as a vital stepping stone in a country boy's dream to become an actor. Hear more of what Phillip had to say below:
After rallies last week in Mildura and Ballarat and Wodonga, TAFE4All heads to Bendigo tomorrow (Wednesday, May 30), and Geelong (Thursday, May 31). See the full schedule here.
